Gameboy emulated on arcade machine!

Reverse logic in action here, but to be honest, the games I played so far cries nothing but joy. The graphics the sounds are timeless. Maybe because the games are being played on a non-blurry medium (which plagued the dot matrix lcd screen of the original gameboy) and the details are amplified several times..I simply can just listen to the music all day!!

Some vids of the shizz on biz:

Also, love the friday 13th Jason cameo complete with chainsaw on double dragon 2!!

Quick comparison video between 31KHz (VGA) and 15KHz (CGA).

The SEGA NAOMI is running at 31KHz (via XBOX360's VGA output) and the OKBaby is running at 15KHz (via MAMEOX, HDBoxPro, Super Emotia set at 240p). Both setup seems to be lag free. Both georgeous in my eyes (even moreso if I chain the SLG3000 between the 360 and the NAOMI).

Here is the vid:

And a video about it...

Heres the video tour, please excuse my phone's camera quality...

1 month on...

This is my progress so far...

The Naomi came absolutely gutted, so I decided to chuck in a HD CRT capable of 720p/1080i, currently set on 480p because the aspect ratio. Dedicated HD cab for the 360 with optional scanlines via slg3000 but currently it is connected throgh component video at 480p & 4:3 ratio. The controls are a pair of pad hack dualshock1s connected through a pair of 360 controller converters to the 360. Menu are navigated with a wireless 360 pad.

The OKbaby came complete with kick harness as well! As it is a 15khz monitor, will make it dedicated for pre-HD hori games courtesy of mameox et al from xbox1. Visuals are properly converted from 30khz to 15khz by way of HDboxPro to the super emotia. I can not stand flickering interlace since day one. Again pad hacked a dualshock1 and everything rigged up by Viletums SCART to JAMMA adapter.

The following New Astro City came gutted as well. So I transfered my sony trinitron 29" tube from the naomi to this machine only to find the curvature of the tube was not compatible with the bezel...so I reverse mount it and it all came together (along with some gaps). The controls shall be done by a keyboard encoder and will be rigged to another hacked xbox1 for vertical play goodness.

Currently the picture is provided by SCART with sync cleaned by sync strike and sync processed by an extron 160xi (a second super emotia on its way for absolute conversion) If anything, the scanline is solid and not flickering like 480i do BUT there is still some flickering but not as bad as raw 480i. Here is some close up pics of the combo in action:

Some more pics of the madness in the shed:

Havent properly hooked up the 360 to the arcade panel, so the EX-SE will do for now. Just didnt have time to get it together before the blog...

Gotta like the old Duke for the xbox1, awesome to play with and nice to navigate the emulators etc with as well.
Its like the control panel of the deathstar when all the lights are out...kind of distracting really.
ECO-Fighters in action!

Paper craft and arcade machine...

Tried  Failed a bit of paper crafting today and to be honest, looks a bit better than the pictures. Tried to glue the tabs that hold it together but that is impossible, so sticky tape to the rescue!

And those who like to give it a go...

New place and new cabinet!

Got a 50% complete NAC for free so I decided to chuck some stuff on it to tart it up a bit. Since most of the components would of been shelved or stagnant otherwise. Pretty happy with the results and also a shot of my messy new location with a view to kill for ... unless the 78 steps upwards get you first!

The 50% NAC now up to 95%...thanks to the LCD screen, some spare flurolamps, 2.1 pc speakers and also my trusty multiconsoled HSS.
Rough schematics for restoration.
The joystick holding panel in the flesh.

I couldnt power everything on at one time because only have 1 extension lead coming from the house and dont want to blow a fuse.
Both the Naomi and Astro City share the same console and power source and can have a 4 players 2 cabinet setup at will.
Test playing DDP and its all good, no lag and motion blur PLUS the sound is bitchin!
My apologies for the crappy quality...
