Arcade cabinet that is!

Often misunderstood as a clone design, this beastie is made of wood as well as plastic/fibreglass.

Then panel has been modified with local MCA levers but it is relatively easy to reverse. The other aspect of the cabinet that I like is the fact that the control panel can be replaced with a standard Astrocity/Blastcity CP.

Its not unusual~

Purist don't like this notion, but it is a good way to get the big picture sometimes.

Upon powering up the Pipi and Bibis board, I realised I have the sanitised version for the Hong Kong market. You can see "For Hong Kong" on the bottom bezel. And Toaplan licensed the game to Honest Trading LTD...hmmm..sounds paradoxical?

Anyway, the trade off will be I can play this game with the public and nobody will have a clue as to its seedy past. Yay censorship!

It is an unusual title as Toaplan decided to do some more Snow Bros. related gameplay with a bit of flesh.

And my final title to complete my KOF collection for the MVS.

Some PC-Engine loving...

PC-Engine, NEC/Hudson's Famicom killer, which in fact was successful in its aim. However, the same can not be said overseas.

In my humble opinion, it was the only console that pulled off the "life-support" mantra for an ageing hardware. In the most tasteful redesigns too.

Pictured here is one of the last large sized Hu-Card for the system. 

This is my setup I had since 25-27 years ago. It has been modified to output RGB signals as well as composite.

It took forever for the replacement power supply to come and also the RGB cable but it was worth it seeing it power up again.

Will need to source a PSX to PCE adapter and I can use my arcade panels to play the machine on the big screen.

Upon returning from my holiday, I saw a listing on Trademe for 33 game pcbs at $1 reserve. Given the local pick up criteria and also the untested status of the board, I figured it would be a good opportunity to take a punt on what I thought it was all worth. 

Board on carpet...say no more. I placed an autobid on the last minute of the auction and it went for half my expected amount. Suffice to say I am sure NZ is not really a good country to sell arcade boards.

The seller was able to identify these games from the batch:

I was more intrigued by the unknowns:

 The first board seems like Super Pang..

The second one has "Gigas" written on the board which corresponds to a SEGA arkanoid clone.

The third game has "Kung Fu" written on it but one of my forum members debunked the probability of Kung  Fu Master being the game.

The last unknown is Vapour Trail by Data East. There are two broken boards on Trademe for $10 each should I need parts to get this game going again.
